Darling Dharma and our visit to Webs!!
Today’s Fortune: A thrilling time is ahead. Be on your guard.
That fortune does not sound good. My fortunes are almost always right, so made sure I was on my guard before we left the hotel room, because I knew I was going to have a thrilling time! We drove to Sylvester’s Restaurant in Northampton, MA. I was too excited to even do a restaurant review, because I was going to see my darling Dharma again!
She was waiting there with Walter, and she looked even more beautiful than I remembered! I was so happy to see her, I couldn’t even eat. We just sat together in the windowsill while everyone else had breakfast. And we didn’t wind up sticky from the syrup.
After everyone finished eating breakfast, it was time to go to Webs. That was the main reason Mom wanted to come to Northampton. Dharma was the main reason I wanted to come to Northampton. I think my reason was much better than Mom’s.
Mom says Webs is like the Holy Grail of knitting. I’m not sure what that means, but I think Webs is probably the biggest yarn store in the whole universe. They have a giant warehouse full of yarn that they let you shop in. It is full of huge shelves and boxes with nothing but yarn. They have really nice people that work there, too. They really liked me and Dharma. One of the girls that worked there even posed for a picture with us!
I changed into my jester hat, because I wanted to have more fun, and the jester hat is the funnest hat I own. When you have to go shopping for yarn, it is important to make it as fun as possible. Otherwise, it can be a pretty terrible experience.
I don’t usually like yarn shops very much, because Mom spends hours shopping, but it was much more fun with Dharma along. The jester hat helped, too. We found a great big basket full of yarn cones. I think you could probably knit a sweaters for King Kong and Godzilla with this much yarn.
Me and Dharma had a grand time shopping in the warehouse. We filled almost an entire cart with all kinds of yarn. Dharma is a very good yarn shopper. Almost as good as Mom.
We finished shopping a long time before Mom did, so we decided to look at other stuff. They had a nice display with some very soft scarves.
And we found a spinning wheel, too. Mom really wants one of these. I hope she can get one, because maybe then we can get an alpaca for the back yard, so she would have something to spin, and I could have my very own alpaca.
I also found a cute little friend while I was waiting for Mom. I am hoping Mom will make one of these for me.
Even though Webs is a very good and interesting yarn store, it is still a yarn store. I got bored and tired waiting for Mom to finish shopping. This is what always happens when we go to yarn stores.
After about three hours, Mom finally finished shopping for yarn… and then I figured out that Webs has a bead store, too. It was at least a little different from looking at the yarn, and Mom didn’t spend quite as much time in there. Probably because it is nowhere near as big as the yarn part.
Mom bought a huge box full of yarn that she had to have shipped to our house, because there was not enough room in our suitcase to take it home with us. She bought a bunch of beads, too, but those were small, so she put them in her big purse with me and Puglet. I said a brief goodbye to Dharma in the parking lot, and then we took two cars to lunch.
Dharma’s Mom has a better purse than my Mom. Hers looks much softer to ride in. Mom should think about stuff like that when she is shopping for her next purse.
