A Tiny Rock and a Great Big Boat!
Today’s Fortune: Others admire your independence.
I think that fortune is probably true. I don’t see too many sock monkeys out doing stuff like I do, and people come up to me all the time to say “Hi.” Lots of people said “hi” to me while we were in Plymouth, which is where we went after we finished our witch project.
Plymouth is where the Pilgrims first landed when they came to America. I was very excited to get to see Plymouth Rock. I expected a giant boulder. Instead, it was really tiny. I was a little bit disappointed to see that it was so dinky.
Mom took a picture of me and Puglet with the Mayflower in the background. That is the boat that the Pilgrims sailed on to get to America. It is huge. Maybe the Mayflower broke Plymouth Rock when it landed there, and that is why the rock is so small.
Mom says this is not the original Mayflower. It is a “replica.” That means that they made a fake one to look like the real one. We did not care, because it was really cool, and a lot more impressive than Plymouth Rock was.
They had lots of neat statues there. I got to hang out with Massasoit. He was a famous Indian that lived here before the Pilgrims showed up. He helped the Pilgrims out a lot and kept them from starving.
This is what it says about him on the rock at the bottom of his statue.
I also got to sit a while with William Bradford. He was one of the founders of Plymouth.
This is what the bottom of his statue says.
It was very pretty in Plymouth. We took a picture from the top of the hill where the statues were. The building with all the columns is where they keep Plymouth Rock. I think that is to make it look more impressive.
We got to go in a really cool gift shop. They had lots of fun things. I call these pictures “The Gallery of Hats.”
This is Mom in her “Howdy Pilgrim” look….
And here is Auntie Pam in her “Turkey Toque”….
Auntie Kate modeled the “Drumstick Derby”….
And Mom looked really funny in the “Lobstah Lid.” I thought this one was definitely best.
I found a really good souvenir for my Dad!! I bought him the Magnetic Pirate Adventure set! He took it to work with him, and now he gets to play Pirates every day at lunch!
When we went back to the car, we figured out that Auntie Pam had a surprise. It was a furry steering wheel cover that she knitted especially for Auntie Kate!
I hope Auntie Pam will make one of those for Mom’s Suburban. I think it would look very cool. Especially if it was orange. That is Mom’s favorite color.
We had a great time in Plymouth. You should definitely go there if you visit Massachusetts!

Oh my! I look as goofy as the turkey sitting on top of my head, Noah!
So, you really think your mom wants a furry steering wheel cover? In orange? I don’t know if I can find orange Fun Fur, but I’ll look. You’ll need to keep it a secret though. Is that okay?

Hi, Auntie Pam!
I am pretty sure she would love a furry steering wheel cover. But even if she doesn’t me and Puglet would really enjoy it. If you want, I can sneak around and check to see if she has some orange fun fur in her yarn stash. If she doesn’t, it would probably be the only yarn she hasn’t bought.
Love, Noah
