Me and My Broad Horizons….

Today’s Fortune: You will find your horizons suddenly broadened.

My fortune is right again. I got my horizons broadened a lot last week. Today we did not get any packages in the mail, and I do not have any good new gifties to talk about, so I can finally tell about the good time I had at my brother’s house in North Carolina! My brother has all kinds of fun stuff to do at his house. He has something called “Playstation 3” and something called “Xbox 360”. They are video games.

He has a room upstairs at his house called “The Man Room.”   It is the best room in the house!  He has a big TV, video games, a computer, and guitars and stuff, and he gets to drink all the Cokes he wants up there.  He let me use one of his video game controllers.  It had lots of buttons, and I was not sure what to do with them.

We played a game called “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.”  I found out I am not very good at Modern Warfare.  That is because I do not have a Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 at my house.  I mostly just mashed the buttons a lot to see what would happen, and sometimes my guy did stuff like running and jumping, but mostly he just fell down a lot. I did not win at Modern Warfare.

My brother also has a thing called a “Foosball Table.”  It has lots of foosball guys on long sticks with handles that poke out the sides.  You can spin the guys around and make them kick a foosball which looks just like a tiny soccer ball.  I found out I am not very good at foosball either.  That is because I do not have a foosball table at my house.  I mostly just made all of my guys spin around really fast, and sometimes I got lucky and one of them kicked the ball into the net, but not very often.  I did not win at foosball either.

My brother and sister in law had a party to go to, so I got to play another game called “Babysitting.”  I thought I was doing really good, and I was pretty sure I was winning this game until Mom fussed at me. It turns out that you do not win Babysitting by sitting on the baby.  I guess I am not very good at this game either.  That is because we do not have a baby at our house.  So once again, I did not win.

My brother has a very good yellow cat named Sebastian.  Sebastian spends a lot of time looking out the front window, and the rest of the time being lazy and doing cat stuff.  Sebastian liked me a lot and we hung out together some.  I am very good at cats, because we have two inside cats at my house, so I have had lots of practice.

I have been giving this a lot of thought, and have figured out that I could be really good at Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Foosball and Babysitting.  All I need is a Man Room, some video games, a foosball table and a baby so I can practice.

I wonder if it’s too late to add those to my Santa list?

Today’s Vocabulary Words: Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Man Room, Foosball Table, Babysitting

    Noah,

That Man Room is pretty cool! Dudes like us should have a Sock Room. We have something called a Man Cave in our backyard. Some might call it a shed.

I think foosball would be more fun if the men were sock monkeys or monkeys instead.

Maybe Santa Monk will bring you the last minute additions to your wish list since you’ve been such a good little monkey this year!

    Take care,
    Big Monkey

    Hi, Big Monkey!

I hope I get most of the stuff I want, too. But I already know that I won’t get all of it. Dad says I can’t have a baby for Christmas. He is keeping his fingers crossed that Santa will bring me Xbox 360 and a Playstation 3, though. Mom says we can’t have those unless Santa brings us a Man Room. I hope Santa has lots of room in his sleigh. He is going to need it if he is bringing us an addition to the house.

    Love, Noah
