My Dad is Famous!!
Today’s Fortune: Your lost item will be found.
That is a very good fortune. I can’t seem to locate my pirate hat, but if the cookies say it will turn up, I will just not worry about it. I still have plenty of time to find it before Talk Like a Pirate Day happens again.
We have had a busy weekend. We rescued monkeys from Buchanan’s, but they need some surgery before we can tell everybody about them. Dad spent today taking some pictures. He has lots of cameras, and really enjoys photography. He is pretty good at it, too. So good, in fact, that one of his pictures has been published! His picture is in the New Internationalist Planner 2010. He got one for me to use, so I can stay organized this year.
His picture is the one for the first week of June. It is entitled “Blue Christmas Tree.” This is not the Santa kind of Christmas tree. It is the oilfield kind. He took it with his Holga camera. A Holga is considered to be a “toy camera”, but this does not mean that you get to play with it, if it belongs to your dad.
My dad has lots of toy cameras and some good real ones, too. Lately, he has been taking a bunch of pictures with “Polaroid” cameras. Those are great big old cameras that pop out an instant picture. If you want to see some of his pictures you can look at them on his flickr photostream. Here is the one that is in the planner:
My picture of his picture is not nearly as good as his picture. Trust me. It is the best one in the whole book, and there are a bunch of good ones in there.
Being a published photographer makes Dad famous. Going on TV with me at Big Truck Tacos did not hurt his fame, either.
Mom has been telling him he needs to do a calendar of me and Puglet for a while now. Maybe he will get on that, now that he is famous. I think lots of people would like to have a calendar of me and Puglet doing fun stuff. After all, we have 56 Facebook fans.

Congratulations to your dad, Noah! I agree that he should do a calendar of you and Puglet. Why stop there? How about a line of greeting cards as well?
XOXO Big Monkey

I would love to have a calendar filled with photos of you and Puglet. That would be so much fun. Too much fun, even!

Hi, Big Monkey!
Mom has been telling him that we need calendars, greeting cards, maybe even trading cards of all the geezers here. We could even use a picture of ValenTina and make a set of Old Maid cards!
Love, Noah
