Dharling Dharma……

Today’s Fortune: You will be invited to an exciting event.

The exciting event is that Dharma Marmalade is finally here!! She arrived yesterday, just as my Mom was leaving to meet with one of those people she calls “Client”. Dharma did not have to wait on the porch, but she did have to stay in her box on the bar in our kitchen, because I could not open the tape by myself. I kept her company until Mom and Dad got home.

Dad got home before Mom did, and he helped me open the box. We used a thing called a “box cutter”. I did not know they made cutters especially for opening boxes, but it is important to use the right tool for the job, so I am glad we had one. It was very sharp, and we were very careful to make sure nobody got hurt.

We opened the box, and there she was!!  I was so happy to see her, I could not wait for her to get out of the box.  I jumped in and gave her a big hug!!!  She is so pretty.  I had only seen pictures of her, but she is even cuter in person.  She has the very best ears I have ever seen.

We finally got Dharma and all of her things out of the box.  She had a lot of stuff.  I have noticed that girls always do.  She has her very own “Meditation Room.”  It looks like a Converse shoe box on the outside, but when you open it up it is decorated with fancy flowered paper in the bottom, and some soft fuzzy blue and green things and ribbon on the inside.  Dharma is a Buddhist, and she meditates for at least an hour a day.  This is a good quiet place for her to do that.  I will have to learn more about Buddhism.  All we know is what we read on Wikipedia.

I got to hold her hand while we unpacked her stuff.  She has very soft hands.  Holding hands is nice.

She also brought a very nice knitted bag with a ribbon to keep all of her things in, a soft quilted blanket with sock monkeys on it, her passport, and a nice present for my Mom.  The present is a bracelet made out of a knitting needle.

The best thing she brought was her puppy, Walter.  He is a pug, and he is very cute.  I hope Mom will let me get a dog.  All we have is cats.  Cujo is our oldest cat.  She really liked the Priority box that Dharma traveled in.

We had some shrimp lo mein for dinner, and then Dharma taught me how to meditate.  You have to cross your legs and sit in something called the “lotus” position.  I think that is from “yoga”, which is different from yogurt and Yoda.  I probably need to look that up on Wikipedia.  I sure have a lot to learn.

I kept falling over when I tried to meditate, but I finally got the hang of it.   Meditation is a lot harder than it looks.  Being still for an hour a day is going to be a challenge, but I will do it for Dharma.

Mom found some little sushi dishes for Walter, so he will have his own food and water.  We are hoping he will not notice that his dish has cat food in it, because that is the only pet food we have.

Having Dharma and Walter here is wonderful!  I can’t wait to show her around, and take her to all of the good places we go.  We will take my crayons and some pezzes with us, in case we get bored.  I think Mom is going to need a bigger purse.

    Noah,

Dharma is very beautiful! She has nice braids. My compliments to her mother. You are very lucky to have her as your girlfriend.

You better watch the cats because they might want to get inside of her meditation room. My cats love boxes too. It doesn’t matter if it’s too small for them either. They still squeeze their cat bodies into it.

You guys look like pretzels doing that yoga stuff! LOL!

    Take care,
    Big Monkey

    Hi, Big Monkey!!

I am glad to know you have cats, too! That is another thing we have in common! We are wise to the ways of cats here – our cats will try to cram into even a checkbook box. That is why we are being very careful to keep Dharma’s Meditation Room shut when she is not using it. Mom would hate to have to try to copy it and make another if our cats tore it up. It is one of a kind and very special. Love, Noah
