More monkeys!!!!

Today’s Fortune: There is a true and sincere friendship between you and your friends.

This is a great and true fortune. My wonderful friend Dharma arrived today, and I almost didn’t get to blog tonight, because I have been showing her around our house and helping her get settled in. She will be here for a few weeks, and I will show pictures of her tomorrow. She is beautiful!!!

My Mom has wonderful friends, too!!! On Tuesday, I was still waiting for Dharma to get here. This was the day after we got the hula monkey box from Pam, and there was another package in the mail!! It was very, very good, even though it was not Dharma. It was a package from my Mom’s friend Tracy. She sent me all kinds of good stuff!!

There was a red and white sock monkey that said “A gift for you” on his tag.  I have not given him a name yet, but when I decide what he will be called, I will write “Hello my name is _____” on his tag in red crayon to match his stripes.  That way everybody will know who he is, and they will not mistake him as a gift for them.  I also got another sock monkey.  It is a thing called a “book marker”.  That is what you stick in your book so you don’t lose your place.  He is pretty big for my Tiny Tales books, so I will have to use him on the big books that Mom reads.  He does not have a name yet, either.  Naming sock monkeys is a very important task, and should not be rushed, so I will have to give it some thought.  Maybe Dharma will have some good ideas.

I also got some really good purple stripey socks that Tracy knitted.  They were in a sparkaly red velvet bag with snowflakes on it.  They looked very good on me, but Mom said I could not have them.  She says that they are for our grandbaby, Lily.  I was very disappointed, but I will let Lily have them.  I am keeping the bag, though.

I am so happy to have my very own sock monkeys!!  Tracy is such a good friend!  Mom says we are very blessed.  I think she is right.

I have to go.  Dharma is teaching me how to do something called “meditation”.   That is where you sit cross-legged and think deep and peaceful thoughts.  I keep falling over.  Meditation is harder than it looks.

Today’s Vocabulary Words: Book marker, meditation.

    Noah,

Your mom must have some wonderful friends because they are so nice to send you these new pals. I think the grandbaby’s socks looked good on you though. Maybe your mom can make something like them just for you?

    Hi, Big Monkey!

We do have some really good friends! I will have to see if Mom will make some socks, but I doubt it. She has not even made any for Lily. She says once she starts making socks, she will have to spend insane amounts of money on “indie-hand-dyed skeins of yarn” (whatever those are) and that that would be “crossing over to the dark side.” Love, Noah

    Good Evening Noah,
Tell your mom she will cross over to the dark side. I will come sit in her lap and teach her how to knit socks. You must have socks so your poor little toes don’t get cold. I had to knit a pair for Lily, too. Your mom really needs to suck it up and knit socks.

    Hi, Pam!

I am working on it. I keep telling her that my feet are really, really cold, and that Dharma would sure look pretty in some pink socks. I may be making progress. She said we have to go to the yarn store tomorrow to buy size 1 needles, because she doesn’t have any that small. (I thought she had every size, but apparently she never bought smaller than size 2’s.) She is getting those to make my Mr. Foster!!! Maybe when she finishes him, she will knit us some socks. Love, Noah
