A Taxing Week……
Today’s Fortune: As the purse is emptied the heart is filled.
I think Mom is inclined to disagree with that fortune. Her purse is going to be mighty empty on Wednesday, and she does not seem to have a very glad heart about it.
I have had almost no fun at all this week. Mom has been working on something called “taxes” all week, and it makes her very cranky. Taxes are where you have to send away a big chunk of your money. Mom says that we are sending them to “Uncle Sam.” I have not met Uncle Sam yet. I wonder if he drives a Porsche like Uncle Phil’s?
I have had to entertain myself all week, and it has been very boring here. We are waiting for our next TSM monkey to arrive, but she is coming all the way from someplace called “The UK”, and she is not here yet. Mom did buy me some interesting snacks this week. She got me something called “Animal Crackers”, and they are very tasty.
It is kind of hard to tell what they are, but I think I identified most of them. I have sheep, bears, lions, giraffes, zebras, seals, tigers, camels, and some lumpy looking thing that I think is a koala. There were also monkeys, but I did not eat those, because it just did not seem right.
I was about to take a nap this afternoon when the mail came. I got two cards!!! The cards I got were about Easter. There was one from Uncle Phil and Aunt Karon, and a funny one with a chicken on it from my sweet Dharma!!
Uncle Phil and Aunt Karon’s card had some very fun fuzzy bunnies and puffy colorful eggs inside. It also had a very good message about peace.
The card from Dharma was wonderful! She says she got to a place called “Knoxville” safely. I hope she is having a wonderful time. I will write to her next week, and I think I will sleep with her card under my pillow.
Tomorrow will be Easter day, and Mom says somebody called “The Easter Bunny” will be coming to visit me. Mom seems to like the Easter Bunny a lot more than she likes Uncle Sam.
I am wondering now if I should be sending some of my allowance quarters to Uncle Sam? If I do, maybe he will take me for a ride in his Porsche.
Today’s Vocabulary Words: Taxes, Uncle Sam, The UK, Animal Crackers, Knoxville, The Easter Bunny

Noah,
I hope the Easter Bunny brought you lots of pezzes and other goodies. My friends and I had a super fun egg hunt. If you want to check it out, the pictures are posted on my blog.
Uncle Sam’s birthday is on Wednesday. I hope your mom doesn’t have to spend too much on his “gift.”
Take care,
Big Monkey

Hi Noah,
I am so glad Dharma is keeping in touch.
I bet she wore her lovely sunny ladybug dress for Easter.
The Easter Bunny is soooo much better than Uncle Sam. Your Mom needs extra attention during this horrible period where she has to send money to Uncle Sam. Be very careful if you meet Uncle Sam, he might take your Easter Candy!

Hi, Manitoba!
I was very happy to hear from Dharma! I bought her a card today. I have hidden all of my Easter stuff where Uncle Sam cannot find it. Love, Noah

Hi, Big Monkey!
I did not get pezzes this time, but I did get jungle eggs and an Easter cow. It looks like there was a lot of monkey fun at your Easter egg hunt! Mine was just me. Maybe I’ll bring Calvin Klein next year. I shared my candy with the geezers. Mom is sharing her money with Uncle Sam. Love Noah
