Another Treasure Hunt…..

Today’s Fortune: A change of scenery will give you a bright new outlook.

This is a good fortune, and it is also very true. Mom took me to the flea market last weekend, and it did a lot to help cheer me up. Mom says I’m back to my old self, whatever that means.

Dad was out of town last weekend, so me and Mom had to go to Buchanan’s without him. We missed having him along, but we had a very good time, anyway. I found all kinds of interesting things.

The first thing I saw was a tall chair with a tray in John Deere tractor colors. I really liked it, but Mom told me it was something called a “highchair” and that it was for babies, like our grandbaby Lily. Lily is still pretty small, but I think even she would be too big for this chair. It was just the right size, as far as I could tell, and I thought it would be very good for when I want to color in my Spiderman activity book, but Mom said we did not have anyplace good to keep it.

Another booth had lots of vintage buttons, and Mom had to stop and look at every single one of them.  I got very bored, and found some other stuff to entertain myself.  There was a neat old toolbox, an old can of oil, and a John Deere tractor sign!  Mom said I could not have the sign, either, because we were not going to hang tractor signs up in the house.

But my very favorite booth of the day was one that had tons of toys and games and books!  There was a game called “Tickle Bee” that looked very fun, and there was a red wagon full of stuff.  There were books about a friendly ghost named Casper, a big-eared elephant called “Dumbo”, and a book about Grandpa’s Policeman Friends. I wonder if my grandpa has policeman friends?

They also had a funny orange chair and a very good box called a “Jamboree of Fun.”  That one looked very exciting.  I was not sure what it was, but Mom said it was too expensive for us to find out.

Even though I did not find any good deals on pezzes this time, I did spend my allowance on some good stuff for me.    I found a John Deere dump truck for four quarters.  I got it out and played with it this morning.

I also found a great happy cow puzzle that I’m sure came from California!  And I got a book called “A Big Ball of String.” I have not read it yet, but it looks like it is probably about a big ball of string.  I will review it as soon as I have a chance to read it.  It has the Cat in the Hat on the cover, which probably means he liked it, so I will probably like it, too.

I felt a little guilty for having such a good time without Dharma, but Mom said Dharma is having a good time on her travels, and it would make Dharma feel bad if she knew I was not having a good time, too.

I think she is right.  She usually is.

    Noah,

I think Dharma would be glad that you are having fun. She loves you, and she wouldn’t want you to be sad. Don’t feel guilty. Sock monkeys are supposed to be happy and in turn make others happy.

I think I need to go to one of those flea markets sometime. I guess I’ll spray on the bug repellent before I go… LOL!

    Regards,
    Big Monkey

    Hi, Big Monkey!

You never know what you will find at the flea market – but so far I have not found any fleas. Love, Noah
