Back from Boston!
Today’s Fortune: You will travel to many exotic places.
We are back from our trip, and that fortune is so true! I got to go to all kinds of exotic places while we were traveling! It will probably take me a week to tell about them all.
When we got to Boston, it was much colder than it is here. Auntie Pam and Auntie Kate picked us up at the airport. We took some pictures while we were traveling in the car. Boston is very big and has lots of tall buildings all crammed into a small space. Mom says that is how most big cities are. Oklahoma City must not be a very big city, because we only have a few big buildings, and they mostly have some space in between them. These buildings did not.
Auntie Kate lives in Weymouth, which is not where all the tall buildings are. We had to drive for a while to get to her house. When we got there, me and Puglet got to meet her monkey! His name is Chip Monk. He is a punk monkey in the making. He will be getting some tattoos soon. Mom says I can’t have any of those. Chip had a present waiting for me! I was very excited. I thought it was probably a giant piece of Halloween candy, because that is what it looked like.
When I opened it, it was even better than candy! Chip got me a squishy Boston football! Now me and Puglet can play Super Bowl. I hope Mom will make us some football uniforms, because I can’t look like an NFL quarterback in a farm suit.
A few hours after we got there, Auntie Beth showed up! She drove to Boston from Connecticut, where she lives. She did not bring Tron, which was too bad, because he is really big, and would have been an excellent draft pick for my team. Mom set up the camera to get a good picture of all of us. Auntie Beth and Auntie Pam are in the back, Auntie Kate and Miss Dixie are in the chair, Mom is in the front, and we are on the fireplace mantel. I am glad we got a group photo for us to have to remember everybody!!
Mom and all the aunties did boring knitting stuff for the rest of the evening. But the next day, we got up and went into the city where all of the big buildings are! We walked around downtown, and I saw some firemen who were working hard. They were very nice, and even let me help them!! I think I need Mom to make me a fireman suit, too, so me and Puglet can play Fire Station.
After we helped the firemen, Mom and the aunties dragged us to a place called The Windsor Button Shop. It was full of yarn, buttons and trims, and they were in there for a long time, because Mom really likes buttons. And yarn. And trims. It was kind of boring, but I did find a giant table full of buttons to play in. It was sort of like those things full of balls that you can play in at McDonalds, only not as much fun.
I was glad when they finally finished looking at buttons and we got to go back out where all the tall buildings are. We walked all over the place and saw all kinds of good stuff. I found a giant pile of lobsters to play in, which was much more fun than the giant pile of buttons!
There was a sign for something called “The Freedom Trail.” Mom says this part of the country has lots of interesting history, because it is where people first lived when they came to America a long, long time ago. I got to see lots of historical stuff on my trip, and it was very interesting.
They have neat buses that are called “trolleys”. They drive you around all over the place so you can see stuff and not have to walk so much. We did not ride one. We walked. A lot.
We also saw a really neat bridge. Our bridges are boring. This one was really pretty, and very tall.
When we got back to Auntie Kate’s house, Auntie Beth had to leave us. She had to go home so she could work. We were sad to see her go, because she is lots of fun. She gave Auntie Pam a great big hug.
We had only been in Boston one day, and already so much had happened! It is hard to believe that so many fun things could fit into one day, but that is how vacations are.
I have figured out that you are usually more tired at the end of a vacation than you were when you started, even though a vacation is supposed to give you a rest.

Oh Noah! if your mom makes you a fireman’s suit, you can have a walkie-talkie to hang on it, just like the man in the picture. And a flashlight. You have to have a flashlight.
We walked a lot that day, but it was so much fun. Your mom was so funny all day long. Y’all have a good day.
