Critiquing Irma’s Burger Shack….

Today’s Fortune: Others admire your independence.

Well, that seems to be true, but I’m not really sure why.  I notice there are not ever any other sock monkeys at the places we visit, which is too bad, because they are really missing out on some good adventures.  Everyone likes to talk to me and ask about me,  and I make lots of friends.   Some people even say that they have never heard of a sock monkey before, which is really hard to believe.

Mom said I should start telling people here on my blog about all the good food I get to eat, so this will be my first Restaurant Review.   She says this is called a “critique”.  But I don’t have to be critical, like ValenTina.  I can just tell people about the food and stuff.

Last night we ate at Irma’s Burger Shack.  It was a really neat place.  While we were waiting to get a table, I noticed that there were lots of colored pages on the wall.  Mostly Spongebobs and Cinderellas, and a couple of Batmans.  I wanted a Spongebob but they were all out, so I colored a Batman, instead.  Dad told me Batman was gray and dark blue with a little bit of yellow, but all I had was red, green, yellow and blue, so he had to be mostly light and dark blue.  I broke the blue crayon coloring him, but I stayed in the lines and did a nice job.

Mom ordered me something called a “California Burger.”  California is where all the happy cows live, so I knew it would be good if it was made from a happy cow.  It had some avocados on it, and some Swiss cheese, too.  And also bacon.  I love bacon!   And it had lettuce and tomatoes and onions on the side.  (“On the side” is where they don’t put stuff on your hamburger, and let you do that yourself, just in case you hate something.  I hate onions, so I was glad they were on the side.  That is where they stayed.)

The hamburger was oh-so-tasty!!  It came with french fries, too, and they were delicious.  They also have stuff like meatloaf, salads and chicken fried steak with gravy.  We will definitely go back and try some of those, because those hamburgers were very yummy.

There was a really nice guy named Ryan working there.  He said his mom has a bunch of sock monkeys, and they live right here in our town!!  I am hoping maybe they can come over and play with us soon.  That would be cool.

After dinner, I got to tape my Batman to the wall in the front of the restaurant.  I could not reach very high, because Mom is short, so I wound up taping it over some other kid’s Spongebob a little bit.  That’s okay though, ’cause my Batman was really good, and they already had a bunch of Spongebobs.

Mom said restaurant critics usually give places a “star rating”…like 1 star if it is yucky or 4 stars if it is really good.

I think I would rather use a Twinkie rating.  Irma’s Burger Shack gets 4 Twinkies!  (Plus a bonus Cheeto for making sure I got to color a Batman.)

I think if more sock monkeys would go places and do stuff, people might not stare at me so much.  Or at my Mom and Dad.  I guess they are just admiring us, ’cause like my fortune says… we are independent.

Today’s Vocabulary Words: Critique, California Burger, On-the-side, Star rating

    Hi, Mom (Sharon)!

I am very glad to know that there are other monkeys here! I am getting bored with the geezers that live in this house. I would love to come and visit your monkeys. They could be on my blog!! Love, Noah

Noah, I told all my monkeys about you and they are very excited. Maybe when the weather gets warm we could all meet in the park and have a photo shoot, or some evening we could go to Irma’s and enjoy those yummy burgers! We could have a monkey fest!!!

    Happy Friday 🙂

    Love, Sharon
