Off to Camp Cavett!!!

Today’s Fortune: Now is a good time to try something new.

That is a great fortune! I have decided to try going to camp because I have never done that.

We just got back from Ashevegas, and it is already time to hit the road again! This time, we are headed for Camp Cavett at Lake Texhoma. Mom is going to be teaching art to the kids, and I will get to meet all of them! There are going to be about 180 campers. Me and Puglet are very excited!

This is the first time I have gotten to blog since we got home from Ashevegas, because Mom has been very busy.  I guess I won’t get to say much about it for now, because we have to leave for camp very soon. We had a great time, and I will tell all about it when I get back from camp.

I did get to have some souvenirs from our trip.   Mom got me some cool sock monkey postcards and a felted llama at one of the yarn stores, which made having to go to the yarn store a little bit better.

And I got some very cool magnets!!  A bunch of the good ones have already gone to work with Dad, because I bought them for him, but Mom got me a special Spiderman magnet.  Auntie Jana got us the wild hair magnet, and Auntie Jill bought me a special magnet of Cyrus the Circus Monkey!  Cyrus used to live at our house, but he went to live with Whitney Shroyer at the Red Heel Sock Monkey Shelter a few years ago.  We got to visit him when we were in Ashevegas last summer.  Cyrus is famous now.  He was featured in Mr. Shroyer’s book Sock Monkey Dreams on page 30.  We are very proud of him.

That is all for now.  Mom says we have to finish loading the Suburban.  I will have so much to blog about when I get back from camp!  I may never catch up.

    Hi Noah,
I hope you have fun at camp. Mom says you can get mighty dirty at camp and that involves a bath afterwards. I don’t mind water so much. But I hate it when I get soap in my eyes. Are you going to go fishing and canoeing? I’m going to go on a pontoon boat this summer. We’ll be boating on the river. I don’t know which one, though. There are 3 rivers really, really close to us. Mom says her favorite is the St. Croix River. She took Aunt Tracy there last winter when they went to a yarn shop in Stillwater. But they couldn’t go boating because the river was frozen. I can’t wait to hear about all the fun stuff you do at camp.
    Your buddy,
    Chip

    Hi Noah,

I hope you have fun at camp. The sock monkey postcards are cool. Now I know why your mom was mentioned in the credits of “Sock Monkey Dreams.” I’m sure that even though Cyrus is very famous now, he will never forget the great family that he came from.

    XOXO

    Hi, Chip!!

I was really careful not to get dirty at camp. Mom did not let me go on the boat, but I got to see everybody with the fish that they caught. I am happy to report that I do not even need a Woolite bath!

    Hi, Big Monkey!

I thought you knew about the monkeys that used to live here and now live at the shelter in Asheville! Not only did Cyrus live here, but so did Molly and Sally. We got to visit them when we went to Asheville last year. Mom says she won’t be selling any more monkeys on ebay, which is a relief, because I like it here.

    Love, Noah
