Me & Darling Dharma at The Fiddlin’ Pig!!
Today’s Fortune: You will become better acquainted with a coworker.
I think that was supposed to be somebody else’s fortune, because I don’t have any coworkers. He must have gotten my cookie confused with somebody else’s. That’s okay. He does a pretty good job most of the time, so I will cut him some slack.
Saturday evening, after a day of monkey fun and boring yarn shopping, we got to go have dinner at a place called The Fiddlin’ Pig. It was a Barbecue Birthday Bash for our friend Knittymac! We had the whole gang there! I checked out the menu, which was full of good barbecue choices from chicken to beef to pork.
Sassy checked out a different menu. It was called “Daily Bar Specials.” Mom said she could not order from that menu, so we all just had some sweet tea, which was very good.
The whole gang was there! We even got to meet Lizabee’s monkeys! There was Rik Monkey, Liz Monkey, and A Monkey (who belongs to Lizabee’s son Art.)
And we got a picture of Lizabee’s real family with her monkey family. They are all very cute!
We caught Morty whispering sweet nothings into ValenTina’s jewel studded ear. She actually seemed flattered by the attention.
But the very best part was getting to see my darling Dharma again!! She was even more beautiful than I remembered.
We sat together and talked and talked. Mom assigned Mr. Noro and his mini-monkey the chaperone duties. He did a good job, and kept a close eye on us while I gave Dharma a kiss.
Our friend Puggerhugger was so happy to see us that she gave us both a big hug! Dharma has been staying at Lizabee’s for the last month as part of the TSM travels, but now she has moved on to Puggerhugger’s house. We are pretty sure she will have a good time there. Even ValenTina has enjoyed visiting Puggerhugger’s family.
We had cake and presents for Knittymac’s birthday. Lizabee and Art made the cake. It was Chocolate Mocha, and it was delicious! Art did the ball of yarn decoration on the cake all by himself. We think he did an amazing job!
After cake, Knittymac opened her presents. She got a lot of yarn and knitting stuff. She really seemed to like it all. Maybe she was just pretending. Yarn is not very exciting, and we had spent a big part of the day hanging out in yarn stores, so I would have thought she would have been pretty tired of it by dinner time.
The Fiddlin’ Pig had very good music. It is called “Bluegrass.” They also had some people who did some really good dancing called “Clogging.” They sang a really good version of the “Happy Birthday” song to Knittymac. Me and Dharma decided to take in the music from up close. We did not try to clog, though, because it looks like it takes special shoes for that.
After dinner and dancing, we got our picture taken with Erin. Erin was the nice girl who did a wonderful job waiting on our table full of lots of people and lots of sock monkeys. She is awesome!
I have decided it is time for another Restaurant Review!! The Fiddlin’ Pig has great food, great music, and great service! If you are ever in Asheville, NC, you should definitely eat there!
I give the Fiddlin’ Pig my highest five twinkie rating, plus a whole bonus bag of Cheetos and three Swedish Fish for being so accommodating to a big group of fiber fanatics, sock monkeys and birthday revelers! Hooray for the Fiddlin’ Pig!!!
Today’s Vocabulary Words: Daily Bar Specials, Bluegrass, clogging.

Hi, Kathryn!
Me, too. It is no fun having Dharma living in Connecticut and me living here, but her Mom lets her visit us a lot. We got to see her last Fall in Boston, and she came for my birthday party in January. I will see if she can come to camp with me next year. I think she would have a lot of fun there!
Love, Noah
