A plethora of painted pumpkin pals!
Today’s Fortune: The time is right to make new friends.
That is not much of a fortune. It is always the right time to make new friends. I am pretty excited that I am finally getting to blog for the first time in almost two years!! As you may know, Halloween is my favorite holiday. Last year, mom took me and Puglet to a pumpkin patch, but this year she just brought home pumpkins from the grocery store. She did a pretty good job picking them out, and they are very nice for store-bought pumpkins. There were different shapes and sizes, and even a tiny pumpkin for Puglet.
The first thing we did was wash them really good with some soapy water with about a half a cup of bleach in it, and rinse them very well. This kills mold and funguses that might be living on your pumpkin and cause it to decay faster. Plus, paint will not stick to dirt, so if your pumpkin is dirty, the paint will fall off.
We took them out to the back yard to let them dry, and then we sprayed them with matte sealer to make them last longer and to help the paint stick better.
We got out all of the paints, but I only wound up using black and white. You can use colors on yours, if you want. I have named my pumpkins. The tall one with the big teeth is Eenie, and the one with the fangs is Meanie. The big round one is Hermione, and the little one is Moe.
Hermione is my favorite. She is so warty and beautiful! And she looks very hungry.
This is the most pumpkins I have ever had at one time. And we are all friends now, so I guess my fortune came true. I will be reporting more on all things pumpkin in days to come.
