A collection of critters…..
Today’s Fortune: Don’t forget you are always on our minds.
I’m not sure what to think about that fortune. Maybe the fortune cookie people are thinking about me. That’s kind of neat.
This is part two of the fun stuff we did at my Grandma and Grandpa’s house last weekend. There was too much to put in one blog, so I decided to split it into three. Mom says that is a “trilogy.” I looked up “trilogy” in the dictionary. It says: a series of three dramas or literary works or sometimes three musical compositions that are closely related and develop a single theme. This is part two of my literary work.
My Grandpa made some really good birdhouses a while back, and me and Dharma got to play with them. One of them is really tall, and the other one is short with a little front porch. The birdhouses stay inside the house, and no birds get to live in them. That is probably best. They are very fancy, and the birds would probably all fight over who got to live there. That could get kind of ugly. This way, the birds can all just get along and build their nests in trees like they are supposed to do.
I asked Mom if we could start collecting birdhouses. She says we already have too many collections. I will have to just visit the birdhouses at Grandma’s and Grandpa’s.
My Grandma had a really funny looking owl that made friends with Dharma. Mom says he is very “retro”. I think retro is kind of like vintage, but not as old. He is pretty cool looking, but he has to stay at Grandma’s house. We do not have room for owls, either.
We also found a family of very good frogs. They are retro, too. We would like to have them at our house, but we have too many sock monkeys and too much yarn. They will have to stay at Grandma’s. I will visit them a lot, though. They are very friendly. Even the big one who looks kind of mad.
I also found a very cute grasshopper. He is made of metal and wire, but he looks very real. Except for the fact that he’s about four times bigger than a real grasshopper. He is going to stay at Grandma’s, too. As Mom says, we already have too many collections. But I think a collection of metal bugs would be a good thing to have. I will work on Mom about that. In the meantime, I will just visit this one.
The only critter we did not get to see was Susie. She is my Grandma and Grandpa’s cat. She is mostly all black and she is very big. She is afraid of us. I don’t know why. I don’t think we are all that scary. Every time we visit, she hides under the bed until we leave. Maybe we will get to see her next time, but she will have to stay at Grandma’s, too. Mom says we already have too many cats.

I think a collection of metal bugs is a splendid idea! Maybe you can hide them outside, and your mom won’t notice.
It’s better for cats to be afraid of you than angry with you. Don’t take it personally. Susie is probably just used to being alone with Gma and Gpa.

OMG. I am going to have to stop reading your blog, Noah. You make me laugh and no one else here seems to understand. They think I am crazy. But I think you understand. Don’t you? Don’t you? Noah? NOOOOAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, Big Monkey!
That is a pretty good idea to hide a bug collection outside. I’m just worried that Mom will squish them. She does not like bugs. Love, Noah

Hi, Kym!!
I do understand! Those people who think you are crazy should just be ignored. People think my Mom is crazy for carrying around monkeys everywhere she goes. That is very sad. The world would be a much funner place if everybody got a monkey. Love, Noah
