The Karate Kids…..
Today’s Fortune: Now is the time to focus. Your goals are within reach.
This is good advice. Maybe if I focus on my goals, I will not be focused on the fact that Dharma has to leave us next week.
One of my goals was to get a good karate suit, and I have achieved that one! Mom finally got our suits finished! They are custom fit for us, and they are a million times better than that sad looking karate suit made for bears that we bought at Michaels.
I do still wear the shorts from that suit, because they go very well with my baseball jacket and my bowling shirt, but that outfit was pretty useless for karate.
Mom says that a karate outfit is called a “gi”. My big brothers took karate when they were kids. That is how she knows. Our new outfits are made from crisp white fabric, and they look really good on us.
Dharma figured out that these are really good suits to wear when we meditate. She is very good at meditating. I still sometimes fall over when I try to fold myself up into a pretzel. I think maybe that’s because she is a Buddhist and I am not.
She is also very peaceful, and did not want to learn the Kung Fu Grip, or any cagefighter moves. Calvin Klein is teaching me those.
I watched a very good movie about karate, and I learned a lot from it. The best thing I learned was the “Crane Kick” stance. That is what you use when somebody has kicked you in the knee during a competition. Dad helped me practice it in the kitchen. He was not crazy about me calling him “Mr. Miyagi”, though.
I think they should make another movie about karate. Me and Dharma could star in it, since we look so good in our karate suits. We make a great team! They could call it “The Karate Kids.”
I will send the idea off to Hollywood, and see what they say. I just hope we don’t have to wax a lot of cars and paint fences to get ready for our screen debut.
Today’s Vocabulary Words: Gi, Crane Kick stance

I love the karate outfits! Your mom did a fantastic job. I think that you should submit a script to Hollywood for a SocKarate movie. If they want to pay you millions, it might be worth a little “wax on, wax off.”
