We Become Heroes!
Today’s Fortune: Right now there is an energy pushing you in a new direction.
That is a strange fortune. I don’t feel anything pushing on me. Which is good, because getting pushed is no fun at all. Especially by energy, which sounds like it could be dangerous. I will hope that this fortune is wrong.
It has been so busy here since Sassy arrived! We have gone lots of places in the past few days. On Friday night, we went out to dinner with Uncle Phil and Aunt Karon again. More Hideaway Pizza!! We always meet there to have our visiting monkeys get their pictures taken with Uncle Phil. Mom says this is a “tradition”. We even got Aunt Karon to be in the picture this time! We hope that will turn into a tradition, too.
My dad had one of his old-timey cameras with him, and he took a picture of us with it. It is called a “Polaroid.” Mom took a picture of us with the picture. Aunt Karon gets bonus Cheeto points for making me look like I have silly bunny ears with her fingers!!
We had lots of fun at Hideaway Pizza. Until it was time to box up our leftovers. They brought us a plain old boring brown box, with no Shmoo on it! I was very sad. Mom said I could color a Shmoo on the box myself, but it just wasn’t the same. The Shmoo box is my very favorite part of Hideaway Pizza. I will have to keep the next one I get. I did not realize that there was a limited supply of them.
Things got better after dinner, though. We went to The Red Cup, which is what we always do, but Sassy had never been there. She ordered a great big piece of pink cake. She says it’s too bad that there isn’t more pink food. I guess I never thought about it, but maybe she’s right.
On Saturday, we went to Buchanan’s Flea Market, like we do every month. This time, it was completely boring. We did not even find anything fun to take pictures of. Mom did not find any vintage buttons or patterns. Dad did not find any old cameras. I did not find any pezzes. My Dad did find me a surprise, though! He got me a red Porsche 911, just like the one Uncle Phil drives! Now I have a red Porsche, too. Maybe I can go to car club meetings now. Sometimes they all meet for breakfast at good places like Ingrid’s, but you have to have a good car to get invited.
All of the shopping and finding no treasures made us very hungry, so we decided to go have a late breakfast. We went to “IHOP”. That stands for International House of Pancakes. Me and Sassy had a hard time deciding, because everything sounded really good.
We finally decided to get chicken fried steak with gravy, eggs, hashbrowns, and pancakes. They had four different kinds of syrup at IHOP!! Dad said they need to change the name to International House of Sticky. At least I did not fall in the gravy this time.
After breakfast, we went to an antique mall. We had no idea it was going to be a rescue mission! Me and Sassy found an abandoned sock monkey who had been tossed in an old suitcase, and we saved him from having to stay there. We are heroes!!
He says his name is Fargis. My friend Big Monkey has a friend named Farcus. I wonder if they are related?
Today’s Vocabulary Words: Tradition, Polaroid, IHOP

Big Monkey
Noah,
OMG, you look so dejected due to lack of Shmoo! Cheer up!
That pink cake looks really good! Now I want some dessert.
How nice of you to rescue Fargis! He will have a good home indeed. Maybe he was born in Minnesota like my Farcus?
Take Care,
Big Monkey

Hi, Big Monkey!
That pink cake was good. We had cupcakes this weekend that were even better. Maybe you can come visit someday, and we will take you to where all the good cake is.
Love, Noah
