New Friends and New Furniture!!

Today’s Fortune: He who climbs a ladder must begin at the first step.

That is very good advice, as you will see.  I did not get to blog this weekend, because I was very busy.  I have been very busy ever since I got home from Ashevegas, actually.  I have new friends visiting, and I have been showing them around all over the state.  I will tell everyone about that very soon, but first I have to tell about my weekend!!   I made a new friend!!  And I got new furniture that is just my size!!

We went to Buchanan’s Flea Market on Saturday, just like we do every month. The last few times, I have not found much, but this time was a bonanza!! We had only been there a few minutes when we came across a monkey that needed to be rescued. He had no ears, and he was completely naked and blind, and he looked very sad.

Dad actually found him. He showed him to Mom and said, “We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better, stronger, faster.” Then Mom and Dad both laughed. I don’t know what was so funny, but I was glad that we got to save him. We spent five dollars on him, which we thought was a fine price to get him out of Buchanan’s. We brought him home, and when we get back from Omaha next week, me and Mom are going to give him surgery, so he will be able to see again. We will also make him some clothes. He already looks much happier, even though he still can’t see or hear much.

We do not know what this monkey’s name is, yet.  Monkeys need a face before you can give them a good name, but we will let everyone know who he is after his plastic surgery is complete.

The next good thing we found was a huge green basket full of old blocks.  I think there are probably at least a hundred blocks in there, and we got them all for only $8.00!!  Mom says I can play with them, but she has something good planned with them.  She says she is going to make some stuff out of them, but it is a secret for now.  I hope that what she makes is at least as fun as blocks.

The next person we bought stuff from had the best stuff of all!!  I got to get a new chair.  It is puffy and soft, and me and Puglet can both fit in it very well.  It is our new TV watching chair.  It is much more comfortable than the  Adirondack chair, which we can now move out to the patio so we have a yard chair to sit in while we work on our tans.

I also got to get a thing called a “bunk bed”!!  That is two beds stacked on top of each other!  One for me and one for Puglet!  (This is where that ladder advice from my fortune cookie came in very handy.)  Mom says we will make some new blankets and pillows for the beds, which will have monkeys on them.  In the meantime, I am just happy to have my very own bed!

But the very best thing I got at Buchanan’s was my own shopping cart!!  I have really been needing one of these!  Me and Puglet went shopping in the kitchen.  We bought Twizzlers, bananas, and some fried crab chips.  (I have not tried those yet, so I will have to review them later.  We got them at the Asian Market before I left for North Carolina.  I don’t know if they are good, but they look very fun.)

Mom was out of Cheetos, Twinkies, and Buttercream Frosting.  She said she would try to do a better job of stocking necessities, so I will be able to get the stuff I need on my next kitchen shopping trip.

After we finished up at Buchanan’s, we went to Michael’s.  Dad bought me some stickers, which I really needed, too.  (I am glad they buy so much stuff for me, because my 12-quarters-a-week allowance only goes so far.)

These might look like ordinary stickers at first glance, but they are the best stickers I have found so far!  They are not only puffy stickers (which is very good), but they are also pirate stickers (even better), and a lot of them are monkeys (jackpot!!!)  Puffy Pirate Monkey stickers!!  Yay!!

The only stickers I can think of that might be better would be Canadian Monkey Nuns with Pugs Driving John Deere Tractors, but I don’t think I’m likely to find those.

Somebody should really do something about that.  I think there’s a market for those.

Today’s Vocabulary Words: Bunk beds.

Oh my goodness, Noah what a day you had!
Who wouldn’t or couldn’t be jelous. Your chair is fabulous, I hope you can sit and read with Dharma by your side sometime.
Do not let SMMP have at it with the grocery cart.

Noah, I just love your bunk beds! You should see if your Mom will read you Dr Dolittle’s Voyage. It has monkeys, pirates AND bunkbeds in it. We can’t wait to see your new monkey friend post-surgery. Love and hugs, nunderwoman

    Hi, Nunderwoman!

I am very glad I got my bunk beds, because Sister Mary Monkeypants is at our house finally! It would not have been a very good host thing for me to ask her to sleep on the floor.

    Love, Noah
