With Great Power, Comes Great Fun……
Today’s Fortune: You will always be surrounded by friends.
This is good news, but I already pretty well figured that out. We keep getting the best stuff in the mail from our friends!
Late last week, a squishy package arrived in our mailbox. It was from our friend Packrat400, who is also called Cheryl. Mom said she thought it was for me!!
When I opened it up, there was a very nice card and a very pretty felted heart pin. Those were for Mom. The part that was for me was a guy named Mike Bison!! He is something called a “bodyguard”. That means he keeps you safe. We really appreciate Cheryl for sending him to us! We feel safer already.
He has boxing gloves, and he and Calvin Klein have been discussing having a “smackdown”. I’m not sure what that is, but it doesn’t sound good. And I’m not sure why Mike Bison has his tongue sticking out. It isn’t helping things. Calvin Klein thinks Mike Bison is taunting him. So far, we are keeping them separated.
Then, yesterday, a package arrived from our good friend Puggerhugger! It was the best box I have ever seen! It had all kinds of very good stuff on it. Puggerhugger lives in a place called Ashevegas, and her real name is Jana. ValenTina is visiting her house right now on the Traveling Sock Monkey tour. We feel sorry about this, but somebody has to do it.
We spent ten minutes just looking at the box. My favorite part was the “Stupid Laser Tricks”. We are not sure what those are, but they sound very, very fun.
There was also a wise saying taped to the box. It said, “With great power, comes great fun.” This sounds like it would make a good fortune cookie.
There was even a pug sticker on the box!! We love pugs. Me and Mom have wanted one for a long time, but Dad says he does not like pugs. We think that is because he has not been around them, and does not know how very wonderful they are. Mom got me a pug last weekend, when we were getting a puppy for Miss Mari. We are going to test our theory.
I think PuggerHugger does the best boxes in the history of the Yarniverse!!
The inside of the box was just as wonderful as the outside!! Jana sent us some red and brown yarn that we will be using to make a sock monkey blankie for our soon-to-be-grandbaby. She also sent Mom some soft purple yarn that has cotton and silk in it, and a long turquoisey scarfy thing that Mom immediately wrapped around her hair.
Jana knitted the scarf herself. It is made of silk and is very soft and pretty. Mom said she may never take it off. She wore it all evening, with the tag still hanging off. When Dad commented on it, Mom said she was doing her imitation of Mini-Purl. Mini-Purl is one of Jana’s pugs. I have never seen Mini-Purl wear a scarf, but she does have an excellent hot dog suit.
The best stuff in the box was for me, though!!! I got a wonderful book, called “Mono Y Yo – Monkey and Me.” I can’t wait to read it. It has a whole other language in it, called “Spanish.” I am glad I can learn Spanish from my book. I am sure that will come in handy someday.
But the very, very best thing in the box was another pug!!! He looks so much like the pug I got last weekend that I think they must be brothers! I am not sure what to name them yet. The one I got last weekend has a tag on his ear that says, “Ty.” Ty does not seem like a good name for a pug. I will have to give this some thought.
And just as we thought, my Dad likes the pugs!! He says they are pretty good dogs. We knew he’d come around!
It is so good to be surrounded by so many wonderful friends! And I am keeping the box that Puggerhugger sent us…..it is even better than my Hamburger Helper NASCAR Cheerios Guy box.
Today’s Vocabulary Words: Bodyguard, smackdown, Spanish

Big Monkey
Noah,
That’s not Mike Bison’s tongue. It’s an ear that he bit off of someone. Be very careful around him!

Hi, Big Monkey!
That cannot be an ear. Mike Byson is too nice to be biting off sombody’s ear. Except maybe Calvin Klein’s. I will be careful around him though. Love, Noah
