A Hop, Hop, Hoppy Day!!!!
Today’s Fortune: Don’t worry about the stock market. Invest in family.
More good advice from my fortune cookies. I do not waste my quarters in the stock market. I buy pezzes with them. That way, I have something to show for my money.
We did a good job investing in family this week, though. Dad decided we needed to go back to the antique store where we rescued Calvin Klein. Dharma had not been to an antique store with us, so she was very excited. She found a nice rocking chair, but it did not play music like the one at Grandma’s house, so we decided not to get it.
I found a big metal thing to ride in. Mom said it was a stroller. This did not look at all like the nice stroller our grandbaby Lily has. Mom said that was how strollers used to look in the old days. Babies these days don’t know how good they have it.
Dharma found a comfy chair made out of something called “wicker”. She also made friends with a doll made out of rags. The doll was kind of musty and had stains on her apron, so we decided not to get her. Besides, Mom says we have no room for dolls. We have to save room for monkeys, instead.
We found a table and chairs that were just our size! One of the chairs was stacked up on the table, so I had to climb really high to sit in it. Mom said this was an “ice cream table”. That sounded great to me, and I asked if we could have it. Mom said it was out of our price range. I’ve noticed that she says that a lot in antique stores, but she never tells me what our price range is, so I always ask if we can get it anyway.
I found a really cool retro lamp. It was blue and it was shaped like a ball. It was sparkaly and it matched my new sweater very well. I liked it a lot, but Mom said it did not go with our “decor”. Our decor is mostly neutral earth tones. Mom does not like blue very much, which is too bad, because it is one of my favorite colors.
We had lots of fun at the antique store, but the best thing that happened was that we rescued another monkey! He is another geezer. He is very old, and is not in the best condition, but we love him anyway. He has a green vest with some stuff called “rickrack” on it. His red mouth looks like it was colored with a marker. He is very funny looking. Dad said he looked like a frog, so we decided to name him Hoppy.
We were very glad to rescue him from the antique store, because he was just sort of tossed in a booth. That is not a good place for a monkey to be.
My fortune says we should invest in family instead of the stock market. Hoppy was only $8.00. We think we got a pretty good return on our investment.
Today’s Vocabulary Words: Wicker, ice cream table, rickrack

Noah — LOVE the new sweater. Perhaps Mom can knit one for Hoppy too.

Hi, Kym!
That is a good idea! Hoppy really needs a sweater. His vest is very faded and kind of ratty looking. Love, Noah

Hoppy is a very lucky monkey to be going home with you, Noah. He hit the jackpot.
I agree with you on the blue globe lamp. I like it too.
Take care,
Big Monkey

Hi, Big Monkey!
He really seems to like it here, and he is settling in. Sadly, he is one of the geezers, so he won’t get to play with me much. He is too old.
That was a really cool lamp, wasn’t it? One of these days I need to get me a bachelor pad and have lots of cool lights like that.
Love, Noah
